Professional Woman, You Deserve Therapy!

Sure, we can be great actresses. People look up to us, answer to us, admire our accomplishments. We have worked hard to get here! We’ve earned the accolades. So why the self-doubt and lack of confidence?

Could it be that inside we struggle even while others think we have it made? Perhaps anxiety, insecurity and depression plague us. Imposter syndrome can be right in our faces. We “should have it all together,” right? So, we push down the fear, the worry, sometimes even shame… and work even harder. Why doesn't it work?

Keeping everything inside comes at a high price! And often that need to succeed can be fueled by a painful past that we strive to cover over with the next award, the next promotion.

Don't get me wrong. Breaking the cycle is a wonderful thing! Success is to be celebrated! Women did and do work hard and deserve every reward we get!

But if we pretend to be perfect, as we’ve learned to do to even get this far, we can lose ourselves. And professional woman, you are far more than just an occupation!

I encourage you to talk with an objective, trained counselor from time to time. Choose one who isn’t looking for a label to pin on you, but one who has walked your path. It’s amazing how that vulnerability can make us cry, then heal.

I've had the honor of counseling professional women for 40 years helping them to change the self-defeating beliefs that have kept them feeling stuck.

You deserve that hour each week to be all about you.
