It's Overwhelming...

With the many changes in the world over the past two years, both as a result of the pandemic and other issues, it's no surprise that society is having trouble adapting. Careers, families, healthcare... just about every facet of how we live has been affected. And while we would typically be able to cope with a single change, many of these life-altering factors occurred in quick succession. Perhaps you were just getting used to working remotely and now you're transitioning back to a traditional office? Or maybe you've made the courageous decision to stay home full time in order to care for your children? Or are you now having to adjust to life without a loved one?

How do we get back to "normal"? What even is "normal"? Or maybe a more appropriate question... is "normal" even a relevant term these days?

Deep breaths...

Being human means learning to adapt. It's not always a pleasant road; but remember, that's what we do, and that's what we have done for years. Will it be a perfect transition? Nope. Will it require us to change our previous mindset? Yup, you bet it will. But that's also not necessarily a bad thing. That's how we learn, and if nothing else, life is all about learning (even if we resist it).

So as you feel like it's too much, just take those deep breaths. Focus on one step at a time, one foot in front of the other. One step forward is still progress. And keep in mind that "normal" is a relative term... perhaps a better way to look at it is "I'm creating my own 'normal'."
